Designed for resilience
By using diverse data feeds from a number of leading IP bandwidth suppliers we have ensured that JTIBS is highly resilient in the event of provider failure.
A second layer of protection is provided in the SDH (Synchronous Digital Hierarchy) connections from Jersey to the UK and France, meaning that in the unlikely event of a sub-sea cable failure, traffic will automatically divert through an alternative route in a matter of milliseconds. An even further level of resilience is achieved by diversely locating the multiple routers that direct the JTIBS network.
JTIBS features
- Speed - Internet Backbone connections are available in a range of service speeds from 64Kbit/s to 10Mbit/s and beyond (subject to quotation).
- Burstable Bandwidth - If your bandwidth requirement is variable or unpredictable then try one of our Burstable Bandwidth options. Burstable bandwidth allows you to cope with the extra bandwidth usage and you will only be charged for the extra bandwidth as it is used. You commit to a base level of bandwidth, but are not limited to that set amount. Your inbound or outband traffic can burst above the set amount to the maximum capacity agreed.
- Dedicated Service - The standard Internet Backbone tariff includes a leased line access connection to the customer's premises as well as an uncontended Internet Protocol (IP) feed.
- Flexibility - In addition to the range of fixed IP service options, a choice of Burstable IP services is available for customers with unpredictable traffic loads who need more flexibility but at a lower cost than a high bandwidth fixed IP service.
- Fixed IP Addresses - Jersey Telecom can allocate up to 64 IP addresses from its own address pool to immediately meet customer requirements. Additional IP addresses are available via RIPE application.
- Resilience - Our Internet Backbone network architecture ensures maximum resilience in IP supply, off-island routes and local infrastructure.
- 24/7 Monitoring - The network is monitored around the clock by our Network Operations Centre (NOC) to ensure service continuity and optimal traffic flow.
