JT Network Fault Fixed
The fault, which affected the landlines of some Jersey Telecom customers this morning, has now been resolved. It happened just after 400am and meant that approximately three thousand customers in certain areas of the Island couldn’t make or receive calls on their landlines. The fault affected Islanders living in Hodge Nurseries (St. Clement), St Martin and Sandybrook. Engineers began work on the fault immediately, and it was resolved at 11.30am. The fault was caused by a problem with the software which is used to connect calls.
“We would like to sincerely apologise to customers who were affected this morning”, says Head of Home and Small Business, Yannick Fillieul. “Our network is highly resilient and this type of problem is rare. Now that it has been resolved, we will investigate the exact cause to minimise the chance of it ever happening again”.
